  1. How are you feeling? Such a well-timed post because I recently made two Mary Oliver poems my iPhone lock screen and home screen. My favorite one, is “The Uses of Sorrow”: Someone I loved once gave me a box full of darkness. It took me years to understand that this, too, was a gift.

Have you read any of her collections? Hope you have had a wonderful weekend!

    • Loads of feelings, frankly. Anxiety and anger over a school situation that’s endangering everything I’ve planned. Melancholy over feeling that I’m not doing anything with my life. A bit of loneliness from all my friends being home this summer (and not having made new friends very quickly). Of course, there are spots of happiness in between (right now I’m ok), but it’s been a roller-coaster of a week.

I’ve read two Oliver collections – Thirst and Red Bird – and loved them both. It’s been a few years though and I need to revisit a collection. I have trouble making myself sit down and read poetry though, which is a pity because I always enjoy it when I do.

Hope your weekend was lovely as well! And that you are well; it was good to hear that you are healing. And good to hear from you in general 🙂 Your comments are always thoughtful and they brighten my day.
